  • What is Active Sync and how does it work?

    What is Active Sync?

Active Sync is a tool that helps you to keep your most important listings accurate and push out updates when you need to.

Listings have changed over the last decade. Searchers used to use hundreds of different sites to discover local businesses. However, now just a few key listings dominate; Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business), Facebook, Apple Maps and Bing.

These listings have become the key sites that consumers actually use to discover, evaluate and engage with a brand. They also supply your information to other sites and voice-control devices such as:

    • Google Business Profile - Google Maps, Waze, Google Home
    • Facebook - Instagram
    • Bing - Amazon Alexa

Consumers rarely use other listings sites, but they can help businesses to build authority with search engines. Which is where our Citation Builder service comes in. It helps you to build new listings, update inaccurate information on existing listings and remove any duplicates.

Active Sync helps you to take care of those important listings - Google Business Profile, Facebook, Apple Maps, and Bing - all in one place, making sure they are accurate and up-to-date.

Once you have connected to the listings from your MAP Local account, you can set up

additional categories, opening hours, the business description, and additional data such as Google Business Profile Attributes, from your MAP Local account and push them out to those listings.

    How Does Active Sync work?

Once you’ve set Active Sync up it will then send you alerts when external changes are published to a listing. For example, if a suggested edit is published by Google you’ll be notified rather than having to log in.

You can either accept or reject the changes suggested within the MAP Local platform allowing you to shield the listings from external edits and ensure their accuracy.

You can schedule each post to go out at the exact right time and set the relevant expiry dates to ensure a consistent stream of content for potential customers to engage with.

You'll get full visibility of what's live, what's scheduled, and what's expired from a single dashboard. It's as easy as setting it and forgetting it! But if you need to make changes, then it's just a case of editing anything that's already scheduled or deleting anything that's live.

    Multi-location Distribution

If you're working with a multi-location brand, there could be instances where you need to push the latest national promotions to every location at once. Rather than have to do this one Location at a time, you can publish a post to multiple locations simultaneously, saving you potentially hours of tedium. Ensuring consistent content across your entire network of locations (or just a select few) in just a few clicks.

    AI-Powered Content Generation

Say goodbye to writer's block with our AI-powered content generation. Our integration with GPT ensures that you always have engaging and captivating content at your fingertips.

Simply add a description of the message you want to put out, and in seconds, our AI writing assistant will give you content ideas to run with and optimize.

  • What is Local Rank Tracker?

The Local Rank Tracker ('Rank Tracker', or 'Ranking Report' for short) is a highly useful SEO reporting tool. By monitoring a business's search rankings in different search engines, it can highlight where the business appears in search at the time that particular report was run.

Up to 100 different keywords (search terms) can be monitored at one time, making it easy to monitor changes and trends in search rankings — this will help to develop your marketing strategy (e.g. which content to include on a website, where to focus link-building activities), as well as improving ranking for underperforming keywords.

What makes the Rank Tracker unique?

    1) Localized search results

As MAP Local is designed for local businesses (e.g. plumbers, dentists, lawyers, restaurants, hotels, auto-repair shops etc.) rankings are monitored at a local level, isolating where the business's customers are sourced from.

Each report is assigned a ‘Search Location’ (i.e. town, city or zip code), which recreates where the business and their customers are located. The Rank Tracker tool passes this search location to each search engine, then gets back localized (not national) search results. Essentially, it simulates a customer trying to search for those services within the business's own catchment area.

As a result, you can see how a business appears to searchers in that town / city / zip code, and how well they rank for their chosen keywords / search terms.

    2) Local Pack and organic search rankings

The tool monitors where a business website ranks (where it appears) in the search results (i.e. 'organic' results).

It also monitors the ranking of the business’s Google Business Profile (formerly known as Google My Business) in Local Pack and Maps results, which gives greater insight into how the business is represented online — helping to shape future strategy.

    3) Third-party search results

The Rank Tracker tool also checks for mentions of a business’s name and phone number within the search results to identify when citation sites are displayed in search engines (and their respective ranking). For example, it will illustrate if the business is found on Yelp, or other directories, which is especially helpful if you monitor brand (‘business name’) keywords.

A business can often appear many times on the first page of search results, particularly if they have accurate citations on powerful sites that the search engines have indexed.

In just a single report, you can see:

    • How a business website is ranking
    • How its GBP listing is ranking
    • How its citations are ranking

No other rank tracker tool is able to offer all these combined features.

Which search engines does the Rank Tracker monitor?

    • Google Desktop
    • Google Mobile
    • Local Pack
    • Local Finder
    • Bing (you will need to buy the Bing Rank Tracking add-on to be able to track your rankings on Bing)

In which countries does the Rank Tracker work?

    • USA
    • UK
    • Canada
    • Australia
    • Ireland
    • New Zealand
  • What is the Reputation Manager?

Reputation Manager is a tool that makes it easy for you to manage your online reputation.

Online reviews are one of the most important factors when it comes to a successful local search strategy. Research identifies three key ways that a proactive online reputation management strategy can help local businesses:

    • Improve Consumer Trust: Searchers feel more confident in a business’s ability to deliver great service if they have a high review score and review quantity — this helps businesses to convert more inquiries into sales.
    • Improve Click-through Rate: Google returns star ratings and review counts in their local search results. Searchers are more likely to click through to a business with a higher star rating and review count. Interestingly, a business gets 25% more clicks from Google’s Local Pack by going from a 3-star rating to a 5-star rating.
    • Improve Rankings: Having more positive reviews than your competitors helps make sure your business is returned for a local search. Currently, local search experts believe that reviews make up 16% of all local ranking signals.

There are three parts to Reputation Manager:

    1. Monitor Reviews

Keep track of your reviews across the review sites that matter to you in one easy-to-understand report. Monitor the growth in reviews, fluctuations in star ratings, and receive valuable new review alerts so you can respond to feedback rapidly.

Once your Google Business Profile (formerly known as Google My Business) and Facebook accounts are connected to your review monitoring report, we will check for new reviews every day. You'll also be able to respond to reviews on these sites directly from within this report.

Reports are fully white-labeled to make this easy for agencies to share with clients.

    2. Get Reviews

Grow and enhance your reputation by generating more reviews on the sites that are important for your business.

Create email or SMS campaigns to contact your customers and invite them to give feedback on your service (using a 0 - 10 NPS rating), then direct them to your chosen sites to submit reviews.

Every email and landing page can be customized with the logo, colors, and text to match any brand. We also have Link and Kiosk Modes available to capture reviews at the point of sale, and beyond.

    3. Showcase Reviews

Beautifully display your customers' reviews from across the web on your own pages to deliver powerful social proof and increase conversion rates.

With Showcase Reviews, you can use Reputation Manager as an end-to-end solution for managing reviews. Monitor Reviews → Get Reviews→ Showcase Reviews.

Choose one of our widget styles, select the reviews you want to publish, and use the customization options to match your business's brand and style. Once you’re happy, just copy and paste the lightweight embed code into your site.
